Propylen

Availability: In Stock

The non-absorbable surgical suture PROPYLEN is mainly used for the retention in contact or the convergence of soft tissues even in ophthalmological operations, cardiovascular and nervous system operations. As a material it is particularly compatible with tissues.

The PROPYLEN suture initially shows a minimal inflammatory tissue reaction followed by a gradual formation of a connective tissue capsule around it. It is not absorbed by the tissues, is not degraded and is not attenuated by the action of proteolytic enzymes. Due to the fact that it is almost inert in relation to the tissues, its use is recommended in cases where the minimum possible reaction is desirable. It is particularly recommended for use on wounds that are either infected or are easy to contaminate afterwards. PROPYLEN suture does not adhere to the tissues resulting in easy and painless removal. The suture is usually removed within one month.
