The non-absorbable POLYESTER surgical suture is used for contact retention and soft tissue convergence, even in cardiovascular, neurological and ophthalmological procedures. The application of the POLYESTER non-absorbable surgical suture initially causes a slight inflammatory reaction of the tissues, typical of the reaction to a foreign body, followed by a gradual
creation of a connective tissue capsule around the suture. POLYESTER sutures are not absorbed and do not lose their strength due to hydrolysis in vivo.
