The surgical stitch PROFIMED-PTFE is a sterile single-strand non-absorbable surgical suture made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) polymer.The PROFIMED-PTFE is indicated for contact retention or soft tissue filling, including use in cardiac and dental surgery.

The use of PROFIMED-PTFE is not indicated for ophthalmological procedures, as well as in microsurgery and in peripheral nerve tissue After implantation the surgical suture PROFIMED-PTFE causes a very slight local tissue inflammation, typical of the reaction to a foreign body, followed by the corresponding local growth of fibrous connective tissue.
